The key to making a difference is first to look at what you have to offer. Are you really creative? Are you industrious? Can you influence others? Are you a really sweet people person like Kara? Everybody has SOMETHING to offer, you just have to figure out what you want to do with what you have been given.

This video is for a great cause, one that you should consider supporting. But, the truth is, I found it really funny watching celebrities explain stuff they would buy with 40 cents.

Seth Godin is a famous leadership Guru. I read his blog, and today it really resonated with me and with what we are trying to do here at TheDougAndJonShow.com.
In his blog "Hardly Worth the Effort" Seth describes the need for the last 10 percent to be awesome, and how it's that quality mark that separates your average joe from your amazing joe.
What comes to mind is the recent video; Doug and Jon Diffuse a Bomb. The scene with the robot was ridiculously complicated involving a full day of shooting, then another day of editing. The funny thing is, that shot is 4 seconds long. We decided as a team a long time ago that if we are going to do anything we are going to do our best. (Look for the forthcoming behind the scenes 'Geek Vid' explaining just how we did that robot shot.) It's not that we always live up to this standard, but we have tried to make a culture out of excellence around here.
It's a good principal to have in life because it's always good to "Be That Guy". The guy who will always put in that last 10 percent, no matter what your doing, whether doing a school report, being a gentleman on a date, or bringing a robot to life outside the old lumber mill.

Next time you're in Spain, you may want to check out the baby jumping festival. It's a tradition that goes back to the 1600's.
Apparently babies line up and when the whistle blows the babies start jumping... Wait, I am being told that the babies don't actually do any jumping, instead they get jumped over by grown men.
If you, or someone you know has a baby, you can take your baby to participate in being jumped over. The babies are laid on mattresses and men dressed in costumes run around jumping over them, only sometimes accidentally jumping on them.

Okay, this one takes the cake. I know that Mr. T is doing a good work here, encouraging us not to diss our mothers. I am just saying, this could be the funniest infomercial I have ever seen!
