A 12 year old teaches me a thing or two about compassion.
Sometimes, when there is a need to be met, somebody has to meet it. What happens when the only person willing to see past differences in class and circumstance is a twelve year old girl?
Bharti Kumari of Kusumbhara, Bihar, India walks two miles to school every day. Abandon at a train station as an infant, she counts it a privilege to get to go to school at all because 10 million kids are to poor to attend. In light of this, my new hero took action. She set up a school where she is the head mistress, teaching 50 village children between the ages of five and ten.
"Every morning and evening, under the shade of a mango tree, she teaches Hindi, English and maths to 50 village children who would otherwise receive no education."
I have a feeling that Bharti will go on to be an amazing woman, she has already changed so many lives!
