Whatever the situation, if you know he is not the one for you, get out of it. If you’ve been together for a while, you’ve probably invested a lot of time getting to know him and the feeling of love quite probably has grown in your heart. However, deep down you know you’re not meant to be. Let me share a little lesson I had to learn. Getting out of a relationship only gets harder the longer you ignore the truth lurking beneath. My mom always told me, “Be careful who you fall in love with.” Laughing in her face I would remind her that love just happens. Cupid shoots his magical arrow and you have no choice but to fall. I was wrong. Love is so complex. You can have physical attraction and sparks within a minute of meeting someone, but love is deeper and is a choice. In order to fall in love, you have to open your life and soul to another person. They in turn must do the same. This is a natural occurrence as you spend a lot of time with a single person. The more you bond through the sharing of fears, dreams, hurts, the more you will feel love for someone. So, yes, you have the choice to “be careful who you fall in love with.” Call me a romantic, but I believe God created one person just for you to be with forever. Once you know a guy is not THE one, don’t ignore it. Take the biggest challenge. Step away. I know you will thank yourself later. |
