The excitement of a relationship and getting to know someone is quite intoxicating.  The world seems brighter; you have a new found confidence.  However, is the relationship really destined to work or are you kidding yourself?

Well, while bogging through the world of dating, I’ve learned to look for a few red flags in a relationship.  Ask yourself these questions to see if you have any ‘check engine lights’ flashing.

Does he yell at his mom?  The lady who bore him into this world deserves his utmost respect.  If he is in the habit of hating on his mom, the chances are, when he’s comfortable with you, he’ll turn his loud volume your direction.

Does he have wandering eyes?  If you see him checking out other girls in person or online, it’s a sign he probably compares you to other ladies.  There is a HUGE problem here!  You don’t look like anyone else in this world and you deserve a man that only has eyes for you!

Has he been caught in a lie?  You might think it was a one-time deal, and you can understand why he wanted to hang out with his buddies or whatever, but honesty and trust are crucial in a lasting relationship.  Why did he need to lie?  The truth is, he will probably lie again.

Is he pressuring you for sex? No matter what excuse he gives you, the choice is still yours.  He is demanding what HE wants and not considering your needs.  You deserve a real man who is willing to wait.  Just because you don’t know of anyone else to date, doesn’t mean Mr. Perfect won’t exist somewhere in the future.
